Child and Youth Counselling

Child and Youth Counselling

Mental health and wellbeing continues to be one of the biggest concerns raised by young people in South Australia with 1 in 3 young people reporting high psychological distress and almost one quarter reporting feeling lonely most of the time.

We will tailor supports to meet the needs of your family. Appointments are offered outreach at school or community centres.

When working with young children we will work collaboratively with caregivers to support best outcomes for your most important person.

Counselling services are structured interventions addressing mental health, safety and wellbeing based on evidenced informed practice.

Counsellors offer interventions based on:

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Family violence frameworks including Response Based Practice
  • Interpersonal neurobiology

All services are developmentally and individually assessed at intake and are based in a trauma responsive framework. We discuss with you your families cultural and religious beliefs and recognize these are critical for the success of your young persons program.

We can support with:

  • Safety planning
  • Emotional skills building
  • Tricky relationships
  • Social and emotional wellbeing
  • Emerging mental health concerns
  • Family & domestic violence counselling
